Today I want to talk about website traffic and getting traffic. On my previous blog post, streamlined attraction marketing system, one of the three pillars to creating a sustainable business is traffic. You must learn how to master website traffic.
Now here’s the truth and this may be different than what other people are trying to share with you but it’s my job to tell it to you straight here. It doesn’t matter who you are. It doesn’t matter what your background is. it doesn’t matter where you are at in your life right now. What I am about to share with you will work even if you’re brand new to the internet and have no experience.
Website Traffic – Cold vs Warm Traffic
What I’m about to share with you will work even if you don’t have a list of email subscribers. This will work even if you don’t have a Facebook fanpage with anyone following you yet. What I’m going to teach you is how to fish so you you can feed your family for the rest of your life with the skill set I’m about to share with you.
Now let me just be blunt. Not all traffic is created equal. There is cold traffic and there is warm traffic. Facebook is warm traffic because we have a relationship with our subscriber prior to them opting in to our list. So it is a much higher quality lead which I choose to work with.
Cold traffic on the other hand you don’t have a relationship prior to them opting in to your list. So what tends to happen you have to generate a lot more cold traffic. Cold traffic example would be a solo ad. I prefer to focus my energy on warm market because it’s a much higher quality lead. Facebook allows us to go after the individuals we want to go after.
This is a critical component to attraction marketing which is the art of captivating your audience to want to do business with you because of who you are not because of what you’re promoting. Most people make the rookie mistake (98% of them) of doing it the wrong way.
They have an offer and they have traffic but they send people directly to offer without establishing any type of relationship. This is the reason most people struggle to get any conversions in their business.
I’m going to explain right now how to eliminate that. First thing you need to do is set up a Facebook page for business. Then you need to have a custom lead capture page branding yourself and the value you have to offer.
Some things you can do it write a free report, audio, video and share something your audience can learn from. Provide them with value so you can establish that rapport. Giving value away for free is powerful.
Website Traffic – Images
This is what people are really interested in. Facebook will also reward you for this.
Next thing is creating your Facebook ad and using a really good image. If you don’t know how to do that you can use Fiverr.com and have someone do it for you. Someone will create an image for $5 and it’s good.
I personally use Canva and it’s very easy to use. When you start probably easier to pay someone until you get good. If you want to learn how go heree >> Create Images Online
The difference between having a good image and a bad image is the difference between spending a $1 per lead or $5 per lead. So using the right image is absolutely critical.
Facebook also allows you to split test different images in the same campaign. So you can see what works the best for your offer or whatever it is your promoting.
Once you have your image/s selected your going to put in your headline. Make sure it relates what it is you have to offer. It has to make sense.
Next your going to choose your call to action. The ones I use most are learn more or sign up.
Next your going to target a specific country. I personally target English speaking countries like United States, Canada, Australia, UK, New Zealand etc.
Age is your next step and it really depends what your going after. Something I commonly do is 25 to 40 so I know what kind of language to use with them.
Language I always choose English seeing I don’t speak any other languages. So far this is pretty self explanatory but this is really how simple it is.
Website Traffic – Interests
Your next step is interests. It is very important you do your research. Your interests is your target market and if you don’t get crystal clear on who your target market is your going to be preaching to the choir and get bad results. How do I know this? Through experience.
Let me show you how I find a specific niche audience. Most of the things I promote I target business orientated people. I usually jump over to Google really quick. Type in something like “business coach” and see what they come up with.
I will look at some of the top searched on Google and one of the top is Forbes. I’m sure you’ve heard of Forbes. They share lots of groundbreaking business stories in the industry.
So go back to Google and type in Forbes as an interest. When it pops up I would choose it. Then it gives me my “reach” for how many people my ad can reach between the ages 25-40.
My recommendation is to have my reach around 50,000 or less. This doesn’t mean I won’t go after 100,000 but ideally I always aim for around 50k.
Lets say my reach is 1,000,000 what can I do to change this demographic? Well you can play with the age. Try changing the age from 30-40. What I also like to do it target men and women separately. Think about it. Do you use different language when your hanging out with your friends opposed to talking to your wife or vice versa?
When I place ads I NEVER put male and females together because I want to know what’s going to convert better for my demographic. So I will create two separate ads one for male and one for female and all the other information will be the same.
This is the key to actually tracking and monitoring your ads the right way. A lot of people don’t do this and it’s a big mistake if your not. Then place your ad and your done.
Remember you must split test and monitor your ads to see which ones are going to do well. Pause the rest. I like to set up 5-10 ads daily. I watch them closely. Lets say 2 perform well and I’m not getting any clicks or conversions for the other 8. Well I would scale up the 2 that are doing well and pause the other ones.
