If you have been marketing for a while you know that email subject lines must grab your readers attention. There is an old saying “If it don’t get opened it ain’t gonna get read”.
So yesterday I spent close to 5 hours sorting through old broadcasts to see which ones had the highest click through rate. Out of over 1000 old emails we were able to analyze why some did very well while others sucked wind.
Some could argue it has something to with what day you send it. Time of day. How dialed in your audience is. How good your list is. These things all matter. Some more so.
Bottom line, if you have a list with a strong following your going to get high open rate if you’ve been delivering good content with consistency. But lets face it, most of you are just starting to build a list so it’s important to get as many opens as you can. There is an exact science when putting together email marketing strategies.

Email Subject Line #1: Extend an Invitation

People love being part of something special. Make it clear and they will open.
Email Subject Line #2: Make Some Sort of Prediction
“Google to buy Facebook in 2015, how to profit”
People love to stay in the forefront. Nobody wants to get left behind. A good example of this have you ever read the cover of the National Enquirer? They are riddled with predictions all over the front cover.
Email Subject Line #3: Quote a Big Undeniable Dominant Authority B.U.D.A
“Wall Street Journal: Facebook Marketing KILLED Modern Print”
Email Subject Line #4: Don’t Be Afraid to Add Humor
“3 Steps To Online Profits – Even A 9 Year Old Could Follow”
Don’t be afraid to create some humor from time to time. Sometimes people just need a little nudge to move forward in this case opening up your email.
Email Subject Line #5: Be Blunt
“Good-bye…Old Fashioned “Go Broke” Affiliate Marketing”
Sometimes it’s good to get straight to the point. Most people are going broke with traditional affiliate marketing so this email talks straight to them.
Email Subject Line #6: Offer Something for FREE
“Free COOL Little Survival Knife Enclosed – OPEN THIS NOW”
Ok this is something that took me years to do. These get the MOST opens to any emails. Now this is the trick. Make sure your readers don’t feel tricked when they open your email. So it’s a must you really do have something for free or a reason for them to open.

“(Warning – GRAPHIC) Confessions Of A Struggling Network Marketer”
I’m not big into drama but guess what most people love it. You will pique their curiosity and it will get opens.
Email Subject Line #8: Talk About an Ongoing Problem in the Industry
“10 Plagues That Fall Upon The Average Network Marketer”
Most people are losing money with their business so leading with a problem can get good open rates.
Email Subject Line #9: Flatter Your Reader
“Only for YOU our Top 21st Century Network Marketer”
Yes people love to feel flattered. Enough said.
Email Subject Line #10: Ask A Question
This get very high open rates without having to give something away for free. People love to give their opinion. It will get opened cause it gives them something to think about.
So there you have it. My top email subject lines that have gotten me thousands of opens. You can use these and create multiple versions to work with whatever you are promoting.
NOTE: Other weird tricks for email subject lines.
We have also found having numbers in subject lines also do very well.
EXAMPLE: “2500 people did this and lost 4563 pounds”
If you use Weird words like “Weird” get you opens..
EXAMPLE: “Brian – NASA Scientist’s 3 Very WEIRD Discoveries”
Weird Characters Get Opens – #$%^&*#
EXAMPLE: “#Lofton Bacher Skinny Knives 75% off”
If you combine these tricks and my top ten formulas you should DOUBLE your email opens overnight. Try it and you’ll be amazed.
WARNING: It’s important to be congruent inside the body of your email after they open. If you have a subject line about naked women and they open it and it’s selling them car insurance your going to piss off your readers. Don’t trick your list. Not a wise idea.
