Today I’m going to share with you the number one thing that people face when starting an online business particularly network marketing. It is something people hunt for, seek for and attach emotions to that they shouldn’t. It is the biggest obstacle that new business owners face online.
Ok, so what is this big thing that crushes would be superstars inside of network marketing or really any business for that matter? That crushing is the seeking of acceptance and approval.
Starting An Online Business – Rejection
You see most people that get into network marketing don’t have a sales background. They really haven’t faced rejection much. When they get into network marketing it seems like a great idea at the time.
They love the product. Maybe they love the comp plan. They love the idea of residual income. They love all kinds of things about network marketing.
The next thing they do is go out there and hunt for acceptance and approval. This is a big crusher. When your seeking acceptance and approval vs not being addicted to the outcome you start to become disappointed and frustrated. You start to really buy into that rejection.
So my number one suggestion for you is if your serious about building a network marketing business you need to totally eliminate the need for acceptance and approval.
I have a great example from movie. Have you ever seen “Matrix?” I can’t remember it’s in the second or third movie. Morpheus believes that Neo is the one. So someone challenges Morpheus and says “You know not everyone believes that Neo is the one.” Morpheus goes on to say “My belief doesn’t require them too.”
Pretty powerful stuff! You see, that’s what you need to have. You need to know that what your in is something good.
It’s a good opportunity or a good company. You have good community, leadership, training and support. It’s a good thing for you and anyone you involve in it. You need to stop seeking acceptance and approval from everybody.
Starting An Online Business – Everyone Gets Rejected!
So when your new you have to understand even the best of the best still get rejected. I still have people tell me no. Lots of the leaders I work with are told no every single day. That’s just the deal. Don’t seek acceptance and approval. Just because someone doesn’t approve of it doesn’t make it a bad thing.
When I left my jobs and told people I was going into business for myself no one accepted or approved my decision. If I operated on a acceptance and approval model I would still be working 60 hours a week at a job I hated. There’s no question.
Not one person said to me “good for you” or “go start your own business.” If your playing big and want to build something successful drop the need for acceptance and approval.
